49th annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill!

Set a reminder for the much-anticipated 49th annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill! This remarkable event has its roots in an impromptu gathering 49 years ago, initiated by Billy Kidd, Steamboat’s skiing director, and Larry Mahan, a six-time all-around World Champion cowboy. They invited professional rodeo stars for a day of skiing in Steamboat, creating an event so enjoyable that it has now become the highlight of the season. Attracting over 100 top professional rodeo participants, it stands out as the country’s most unique ski rodeo.

The excitement begins at 1pm with Cowboys & Cowgirls racing down a dual slalom track, tackling a jump, roping a person, saddling a horse, and sprinting to the finish line. This is followed by the thrilling Stampede Event, where participants start en masse, and the first to reach the bottom claims victory. Don’t miss this extraordinary blend of skiing and rodeo skills!
