February 2022 | Community Update | Steamboat Springs

steam boat

The grand event everyone has been waiting for! The fireworks! And horses down Main Street, kids being pulled by horses over jumps, and a band on skis. We were lucky enough to speak to one of Routt County’s leading historians about the Winter Carnival, Candice Bannister, the Executive Director of the Tread of Pioneers Museum on our Podcast/Youtube show “Talk of the Boat”. We have a link to her incredible knowledge later on in this newsletter and we encourage you to check it out and learn about the origins and beginnings of the Winter Carnival. We hope to see you out on the town this weekend soaking up the events and seeing friends and family! And of course, checking out the fireworks!!!

2022 Winter Carnival is going on now through Sunday, February 13th

The Winter Carnival is a community-wide celebration of athleticism and winter. For over a century, the Winter Carnival has been a celebration that builds community and highlights Steamboat’s western and ski heritage. Find out more about the 2022 Winter Carnival on our blog. Also going on this weekend will be multiple music and stand-up comedy shows, late-night soirees, and tons of family fun!!
