February 2022 Team Yazbeck Listing Update
February 2022 | Listing Update | Steamboat Springs
The Steamboat planning commission has met again to discuss the proposed cap on short-term rentals (STRs). The commission is looking at the overlay zones proposed by the city and discussing what makes the most sense if Steamboat does indeed propose a cap on STRs. Many other mountain towns have enacted some kind of cap on STRs and the results have been mixed. While the character of our town has always been that of family and outdoor fun first, homegrown Olympians and local start-up businesses second, preserving our deeply rooted neighborhoods and the rights of property owners is a multifaceted subject. Any decision the committee makes will ultimately have to be voted on by the City Council.
And that is where you come in. Whether you are a local who lives here or stays with us for part of the year, or a second homeowner or an owner of an STR, we want to hear from you. What matters most to you as we approach the future of STRs? How can we here at Team Yazbeck best serve you and your real estate interests when it comes to making sure Steamboat will always be the place that you want to live in or visit? We are excited that the community has come together to debate an important topic and we look forward to seeing the results of the committee.
