January 2022 Development Update

January 2022 | Development Update | Steamboat Springs

The 2022 year is upon us and we are ready for the heart of winter to share with us longer days and more time to enjoy the outside! Steamboat is seeing a full house with reservation booking near capacity and the local shops busy with locals and guests alike. This Sunday is the Cowboy up Balloon Glow at the base of the mountain from 5-6 pm where you can see six hot air balloons light up the evening sky! Take the whole family so the little ones can run around and experience the enormity of the balloons while you take in the light show. On Monday, January 17th, the infamous Cowboy Downhill will be followed by a free concert from The Little Smokies at the base of the ski area. Lots of fun events this weekend and early next week so get out and enjoy yourself before the next big storm comes in and drops another two feet of powder on us!

Ranches, landmarks, and businesses all have a story to tell the next generation and a local historic preservation advocacy group of Historic Routt County and the Tread of Pioneers Museum meets regularly to discuss ways to improve the process of keeping Routt County unique.

There is a 20 person committee currently working on developing the plan for the acreage and you can email brownranch(at)gmail(dotted)com to submit feedback and input on what you would like to see happen with the Brown Ranch.
