Every summer, Routt County comes alive under the big top, at the arena, and throughout the fairgrounds for the Routt County Fair, a celebration where agriculture, wildlife, rides, and community spirit blend into some of the best days of the Yampa Valley season.
What to Expect
Held in Hayden, this annual event is where our community honors its roots, celebrates local ranchers, gathers to cheer livestock competitions, and welcomes artisan vendors, local nonprofits, and rodeo action across several fun-filled days. Each year brings something familiar, and something new. It’s truly a community touchstone.
A Local’s Favorites
Here’s why we love the Routt County Fair:
-
It brings generations together in a way only a county fair can, the little ones learning dairy ribbon ropes, the old-timers trading fishing tales, and everyone sampling honey from our valley’s best beekeepers.
-
It supports the next generation 4-H families and youth competitors get critical experience, and the proceeds support fairs and scholarships for the community.
-
It’s deeply rooted in our local spirit from ranching families to local bands, each element reminds us why we choose to live here.
