Kickoff the Ski Season: Opening Day Celebration
Start your winter off right at Steamboat Resort’s Opening Day Celebration! From complimentary donuts and mimosas to the iconic ringing of the Champagne Powder® Snow Bell, this day promises excitement and fun. Don’t miss the free concert by Heavy Diamond Ring and hidden on-mountain prizes throughout the day.
Thanksgiving Community Dinner
Location: Steamboat Springs Community Center
Gather with friends and neighbors at this free turkey dinner hosted by the United Way of the Yampa Valley. A true community tradition, this event embodies the spirit of Steamboat with delicious food and heartwarming connection.
Winter Business Expo
Location: Steamboat Springs Grand – Korbel Ballroom
The Steamboat Springs Chamber is proud to present the 2024 Winter Expo! The expo will showcase 50+ Routt County businesses including activity and recreation providers, restaurants, nonprofits, and more. This exhibition is the best way to show both visitors and locals the best Steamboat Springs has to offer.
Santa Horseback Procession & Holiday Drone Show
Details:
Watch Santa ride down the slopes on horseback, then marvel at a spectacular drone show illuminating the Steamboat sky. Round out the night with skating at Skeeter’s Rink.
Ladies Pickleball and Happy Hour
Details:
Come on out to a fun Ladies’ Night of Pickleball. Open to all levels. Learn more about the game, meet new people and enjoy Happy Hour too. We offer refreshments, social time and a chance to make friends who would like to play Pickleball with you. The event fills quickly, so book early. Cancel 24 hours in advance if your plans change.
Holiday Balloon Glow
Details: See the Mountain Village light up with glowing hot air balloons—a magical moment to share with loved ones.
Ring in the New Year
Details: Celebrate Steamboat-style with a light-up Snow Cat parade, synchronized skiing, and dazzling fireworks to welcome 2025 in true mountain-town fashion.
Skate with the GRINCH
Details: Join Steamboat Skating club for our Annual ‘Skate with the Grinch’ family skate! $12 per person or $40 for a family of 4!
Come skate with Santa and the Grinch and support the Steamboat Skating Club! Admission includes skate rental!
New Year’s Eve Light Up Snow Cat Parade and Fireworks
Details: Get ready for an unforgettable New Year’s celebration! The night kicks off with five snowcats, decked out in thousands of twinkling lights, leading the way down the mountain. Following this radiant procession, Steamboat Snow Sports Instructors will glide down the slopes, performing synchronized skiing, illuminated only by glowing torches. This magical parade sets the stage for a stunning fireworks display, lighting up the sky to welcome 2025 in dazzling style. Don’t miss out on this incredible celebration!
First Friday Art Walk
Details: Join us for First Friday Artwalk! Discover the local artists of the Yampa valley and beyond at the galleries and participating venues in the downtown creative district of Steamboat Springs. Look out for live music, wine and special demonstrations at different galleries and venues. The First Friday Artwalk occurs on the first Friday of every month during the summer.
Music Fest
Experience live Texas and Americana music across Steamboat, with legends and rising stars alike performing throughout the week.
Comedy Stand-Up Open Mic
Steamboat Comedy’s Stand-Up Open Mic night is back at Stonewall! Come check out the laughs every Wednesday night at 8:30pm. It’s free to watch or sign up, and performers get a free drink!
Midnight Snowshoe Tour
We select the full moon for this unique experience, snowshoeing at night! We start as the sun is setting and hope that the sky will be clear to view the full moon from a meadow before heading back down by the light of the moon. Ages 18+. Registration is required.

Cowboy Up Drone Show
Get ready for a night of pure excitement at Steamboat Resort! As the sun sets, the skies will come alive around 5:30 PM with a jaw-dropping drone show that captures the spirit of Steamboat and celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Bud Light Cowboy Downhill. This dazzling display of lights and motion will leave you in awe as it paints the sky with unforgettable visuals. It’s a must-see celebration that combines cutting-edge technology with Steamboat’s iconic Western flair!

This one-of-a-kind competition blends rodeo antics with downhill skiing for an unforgettable spectacle.
Winter Wondergrass Festival
WinterWonderGrass Festival will return to Steamboat Resort February 28 – March 2, 2025! Since 2013, WinterWonderGrass has been a grassroots mountainside gathering celebrating all things natural: bluegrass, roots & craft brew! This year, WinterWonderGrass Festival keeps that spirit alive bringing together authentic bluegrass music and Colorado craft beer for one of the best music festivals of the season. The festival features over 20 Colorado craft breweries with complimentary beer tasting from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and more than 25 bands during this three day event.
Free Concert Series
Steamboat will be rockin’ during the winter ski and snowboard season as the Bud Light Rocks the Boat free concert series returns offering a great mixture of musical genres. The series has featured everything from bluegrass to New Orleans style rhythm and blues and traditional Irish music to flat out rock and roll. More information to come!
Steamboat Winter Carnival
Join in the fun at one of the oldest Winter Carnivals west of the Mississippi. From fiery ski jumps to quirky street events like skijoring, this is winter at its most thrilling.
Open Gym
Details:We’re opening up the gym at Steamboat’s Boys and Girls Club to all Routt High School Students. Open gym from 5-8pm EVERY Saturday. Come on out to shoot hoops, score goals, or spike balls. Whatever your sport is come on down and get your heart rate pumping.
Light Up The Night Celebration
Details: Join us for the Steamboat Light the Night Celebration. This evening of sensory delight features four magnificent hot air balloons that will illuminate the Mountain Village from 5:30-6:30pm. The celebration culminates with fireworks and a Torchlight Parade. Spectators can stroll among the standing balloons or watch from the warmth of a slope side eatery. Timber & Torch and The Range Food & Drink Hall will be open to warm up and enjoy dinner and drinks. The merriment doesn’t end there—continue the fun with night skiing or take a twirl on Skeeter’s Ice Rink.
Ski With A Naturalist
Mere steps away from the top of the Gondola at Steamboat Resort, you can be taken down green run “Why Not” to see old bear dens and claw marks, the best places to see porcupines, snow cameras, learn about Elk, Moose and see colorful birds up close. Free, no RSVP needed- just show up!
Springalicious & Closing Celebrations
As the season wraps up, don’t miss events like the hilarious Cardboard Classic and the wild Splashdown Pond Skim, showcasing Steamboat’s playful side.
